HMRI: Hunter Medical Research Institute

HMRI is one of Australia's most innovative health and medical research institutes, where more than 350 researchers are committed to contributing valuable knowledge and expertise to improve understanding of how diseases work and developing better treatments to benefit humanity. Their research programs cover the full spectrum of research from the laboratory to the bedside, focusing on: brain and mental health, cancer, cardiovascular health, health behaviour and public health, pregnancy and reproduction, vaccines, asthma, immunity and viruses.

NIPH: The Newcastle Institute of Public Health

The Newcastle Institute of Public Health (NIPH) is a partnership between Hunter Health and the University of Newcastle, comprising more than 20 health service and public health research groups in the Hunter Region. Formed in November 1997, NIPH's member groups work together to research and implement evidence-based solutions to health services and public health issues.
