Like all enterprises Media Doctor needs both financial and human resources and after 8 years of operation these have run out. We are very grateful to a number of supporters, including the University of Newcastle, Hunter Medical Research Institute and New South Wales Health who have helped us over the years. We greatly regret thiat we have to stop work and hope this is temporary. For now we are not able to post new stories and respond to comments and the site will be in 'read only' mode. But there is a need for Media Doctor. In an era when readers receive much of their health news from the mainstream media, and coverage in many outlets remains inadequate or even misleading, someone needs to provide feedback. But for now that will not be us. We will do our best to get back online in the future. So we are signing off for now. Thank you for your support.
